I love Windows 8. There are many improvements. But, one of the things I am not a big fan of is the procedure for shutting down, rebooting, or putting the computer to sleep. The menu is too buried. So, I started trying different things to make these procedures easier. Using a custom toolbar is what I came up with.
I love it. It works great. Here’s how to do it:
1) Download the zip below.
2) Extract the Power folder from the zip and save it to your Documents folder.
3) Right click on your task bar, select Toolbars –> New toolbar.
4) Point the toolbar at the folder you saved from the zip. That’s it!
5) Normally, you would have to search out the commands to do this. But, the commands and the icons save nicely for sharing. If you are wondering, here are the settings in the shortcuts to enable this toolbar:
