For those of you who are running OpsMgr 2012 RC and are using or are interested in Savision Live Maps for OpsMgr 2012 BETA 3, you may experience an issue while trying to run OpsMgr 2012 Reports from the OpsMgr 2012 RC console.
The reason appears to be with the installer version of the Live Maps for OpsMgr 2012 BETA 3 OpsMgr Extension replaces some of the OpsMgr RC binaries with “updated” versions. This causes the OpsMgr 2012 RC Reporting to crash when attempting to run any reports.
WORKAROUND – Savision suggested to run a repair of the OpsMgr 2012 RC console to replace the “updated” binaries with the proper RC versions. This unfortunately didn’t work for us, and we didn’t take a deep dive into the error log. We decided to remove the OpsMgr 2012 RC Console from the server and reinstall it. This was the “long way” to replace the “update” binaries with the proper RC versions, but it worked. After reinstalling the OpsMgr 2012 RC Console we tested OpsMgr Reporting and the Live Maps Console Integration which worked perfectly.
COMING SOON –
Savision has stated that they intend to release an updated version of the installer on or around 3/7/2012 that will not replace the RC binaries with “updated” versions.
UPDATE! – Savision has released the updated version that does not replace any of the OpsMgr 2012 RC binaries!
“The Beta3 version of Live Maps for Operations Manager 2012 that is available from our website (www.savision.com/download) now does no longer update any of the OpsMgr 2012 RC binaries, which resolves the issue listed. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.” – Savision Support
