Often I am asked to create a direct link to a SharePoint list (the form of which is customized using InfoPath) and then redirect the user to a location other than the SharePoint list when saving the form. Perhaps a simple task, but since I found some confusing posts online regarding the issue, I wanted to provide a short and sweet answer.

Locate the URL of the list form by Right Clicking on ‘Add new item’ in the list and then select Properties.

When the Properties box pops up, copy the URL, which should look something like this:

https://yoursharepointsite/_layouts/listform.aspx?PageType=8&ListId={9C0DB669-6760-4574-A9F1-1BBEBB5D5319}&RootFolder=

The trick is to replace &RootFolder=   with   &Source=

Then, Insert your Redirect Location after &Source=

So, the final result should be:

https://yoursharepointsite/_layouts/listform.aspx?PageType=8&ListId={9C0DB669-6760-4574-A9F1-1BBEBB5D5319}&Source=https://myredirectpage.aspx
