Normally the Reminders window is not set as a top-most window, and it goes to the background when other windows get the focus. But a few times now I’ve found the Outlook 2010 Reminders window is stuck as the top most window, similar to Task Manager’s default behavior of "Always On Top".
I don’t know what causes this, but this seems to happen after I’ve connected to the machine over Remote Desktop and then connected to the console again. I don’t know what the real solution is, but if you have a good backup of your system and you know how to safely make registry changes, try this:
1. Close Outlook
2. Use Task Manager to wait for Outlook.exe to completely exit
3. Use Regedit to rename or delete the window position registry value:
Value Type: REG_BINARY
Value Name: WindowPos
The next time Outlook launches, the WindowPos value will get recreated and the Reminders window will no longer be stuck on top of the main window.
