Dissatisfied with their current internal IM solution, based on Novell GroupWise Messenger, a Colorado hospital sought out Catapult Systems’ help.

The hospital already had Active Directory and Microsoft SharePoint deployed, so Catapult Systems presented Microsoft Lync and Exchange Server 2010 as an alternative that would lead to a more integrated UC environment with higher functionality. The hospital also opted to go with the Microsoft UC solution as it provided a single platform for directory services and authentication, allowing their staff to authenticate with a single username and password, increasing efficiency and accessibility. After an assessment of the hospital’s current infrastructure environment, the Catapult team will install and configure the Lync and Exchange environments and then migrate all mailbox-related information over to be accessible in Microsoft Outlook. The solution has influenced the purchase of Lync and Exchange standard licensing for 1100 employees – great job, Catapult Denver!
