Last time we talked about Personal Collaboration which is technology that assists us in working primarily by ourselves with occasional assistance from other people. This time we take a look at Team or Ad Hoc Collaboration which is a small group of people working on a similar goal for a limited period of time. An example would be a team working on a project, or a group that is preparing a report for a meeting. Microsoft has three technologies in Office 365 that focus on ad hoc collaboration. Office 365 Groups, Teams, and Yammer. These three technologies all provide the two key elements of such efforts, communication and collaboration and effectively differ only in the primary communication method.
