Our Principal Consultant extraordinaire, Microsoft Business Applications MVP and self-proclaimed Power Addict, Reza Dorrani demonstrates the power of the Power Platform creating a Coronavirus (COVID-19) tracking application and a template that tracks cases of the virus globally.
Reza created two videos: one with an overview of his new application, The Coronavirus Tracker, and another one with setup instructions. The data for this application comes from CSSE, The Center for Systems Science and Engineering Johns Hopkins University.
What does the Coronavirus Tracker app look like?
The landing screen gives you an overview of all the cases confirmed, recovered and deaths around the world in a static map. You can drill down by country and city and by case type. You can also send a notification email of what you have discovered on the map. The second screen available is the “around me screen,” this one tracks your current location and lets you know the cases around you. Screen three is a power virtual agent, a chatbot, that automatically answers questions you may have on the virus. You can import FAQ’s from the CSSE and populate the answers that will help the virtual agent answer questions. You can add more and more information to the bot. Screen number 4 is a Public Advice information pulled from the World Health Organization. The last screen, the settings, gives you different options for map style and area, personalizing it.
