Having experienced success with their current Lync Server 2010 test environment for internal IM and Presence, a Catapult client decided to decommission this test environment and implement an Enterprise Voice solution to achieve higher functionality, more external capabilities, and integration with other software.
Catapult Systems designed a full production roll-out of Lync Enterprise Voice. The new Lync Server 2010 Enterprise Edition topology was deployed via Direct SIP connectivity to the existing Cisco CM and integrated with Exchange Server 2010 SP1. Edge servers were deployed for external access and federation, dial-in and external meeting conferencing were set up, and two Group Chat Servers were installed. Federation with Google Talk and internal Jabber applications was established via a XMPP Gateway, and PIC for MSN, AOL and Yahoo was requested and enabled. By the project’s close, all 500 users had been transitioned to Enterprise Voice and Unified Messaging.
The client is very satisfied with the current solution and plans to engage Catapult for future projects on custom software development, design and deployment of CAC and E911, and full deployment of the DR site which was designed during this engagement.
