Catapult Donates Over $10,000 to Tsunami Relief Effort

AUSTIN, Texas – January 31, 2005 – Within two days of the recent Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia, Catapult Systems Inc. donated $10,000 to The American Red Cross relief efforts. Catapult also empowered its employees to make individual contributions to The American Red Cross through payroll deductions. As of January 31st, 2005, employee donations through the program resulted in an additional $1,300.

“For Catapult, donating was absolutely the right thing to do,” said Sam Goodner, CEO. “The tsunami disaster had such a global impact we felt there should be a world response in support. In tragic situations such as this, the private sector needs to respond.”

The funds donated are used by The American Red Cross in a two-phased assistance plan that calls for specialized relief immediately and over the long term in these five areas:

Food and safe water Healthcare and disease prevention Immediate family supplies Mental health counseling Disaster preparedness and prevention measures The tsunami wave that devastated communities along the Indian Ocean was a result of the largest earthquake recorded in four decades. Over 11 countries were affected by the tragedy and death toll estimates range from 250,000-300,000.
