Internet Rally competition
AUSTIN, Texas - October, 2000 - Catapult Systems Corp., an Austin-based e-business consulting company, today announced that it won 1st place in the Austin Accessibility Internet Rally competition on Saturday, October 14th. The purpose of the AIR-Austin competition is to bring together volunteers from the high tech community to build accessible web sites for more than 20 nonprofit organizations. The charity for which Catapult designed a web site is Family Eldercare (www.familyeldercare.org).
The Catapult Web development team consisted of the following members: Matthew, Jason, Jennifer and Heidi.
“Our AIR-Austin team is just one of the ways Catapult gives back to the Austin community,” says Matthew McDermott of Catapult Systems. “From fundraising for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Austin to participating in local food and clothing drives, Catapult is invested in the success of the city and its citizens.”
The competition contained two classes of Web development, Stock Car and Formula One. The Stock Car class is limited to straight HTML, while under Formula One "anything goes". The Catapult Web team chose Formula One. Some of its competition included Cyberplex, Thought Interactive, Intelliquest, Humancode/Sapient, and Dell.
