Catapult Systems Takes Starring Sponsor Role in Arts Run 2007

Austin, TEXAS – August 20, 2007 – Catapult Systems, a leading Microsoft consulting firm headquartered in Austin, today announced it will be reprising its role as lead sponsor of the Arts Run on September 8, 2007. The Arts Run begins and ends at the Paramount Theatre on Congress Avenue and consists of two races, a Kids K and an adult 5K Fun Run/Walk.
At this, the second annual benefit for the State and Paramount Theatres, runners, walkers, sponsors and volunteers are encouraged to participate while dressed as their favorite stage or film star, and prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. In addition, the fastest chip times will also be rewarded.
All monies raised September 8th will go directly to the general upkeep and maintenance of the nonprofit theatres, which cost approximately $5,000 a day to operate. These venues rely on the community generosity for support, with ticket sales accounting for only 60% of the required revenue to keep the doors open. The other 40% – approximately $1.5 million – comes from donations and development events, like the Arts Run.
“It’s exciting for Catapult Systems to continue our support of the Arts Run,” said Sam Goodner, chief executive officer of Catapult Systems. “This is our second year to sponsor this event, which is symbolic of what makes Austin such a great place to live – an active lifestyle, dedication to the arts, and good clean fun. We strongly believe that a well-rounded company must be a positive force in the community, and we look forward to many more years of participation.”
