Catapult Systems Among Fastest-Growing Aggie-owned Companies in the World
AUSTIN, Texas – October 31st, 2005 – Catapult Systems was named the 36th fastest-growing Aggie-owned or Aggie-led company in the world by the Texas A&M Entrepreneurship Center. Over 700 companies competed for a spot on the prestigious 2005 Aggie 100 list based on revenue growth between 2002 and 2004. Companies also had to be in business for at least five years and earn revenues of over $100,000 in 2002.
"We are honored to be part of such an impressive group of companies and leaders," said David Jacobson, Catapult's CTO.
The Aggie 100 finalists, which represented approximately $3.3 billion in total revenue, were celebrated by over 600 people at an awards luncheon in the Zone Club at Texas A&M Kyle Field on Friday, October 28.
The Aggie 100 program was created to celebrate the success of entrepreneurial Aggies and provide a forum for them to pass their lessons on to the next generation. Award recipients were able to reach over 2,500 students through meetings and roundtable discussions during the two day event.
Sam Goodner, Catapult's CEO, and Jacobson, both volunteered to meet with students on Thursday, October 27. Goodner shared lessons he wished he had known as a college student and his advice to future entrepreneurs with MSC Sophomore Leadership Program students while Jacobson facilitated a student roundtable discussion.
"Meeting with the students was my favorite part of the event," said Goodner. "Their enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, and the quality of their questions were inspiring. I enjoyed the celebration and the peer recognition, but the opportunity to connect with the students was by far the most rewarding."
