Sony Electronics, a division of Sony Corporation of America, employs approximately 20,000 people in North America. Operations include manufacturing and engineering, design, sales, marketing, distribution, systems integration and customer service of electronics and recording media products for the consumer, IT, broadcast, commercial and institutional market segments.

Sony Electronics faced immediate goals of increasing sales in new and established markets as well as long-term, strategic goals for strengthening customer relationships at all points of the customer lifecycle. To meet these goals, Sony launched a major e-commerce direct sales initiative. The solution needed to be designed and implemented as soon as possible to increase sales revenues within target dates.

Catapult’s e-commerce expertise helped Sony successfully complete the envisioning and business design phases of the initiative. Catapult worked with Sony to identify requirements, ensure these were met and consolidated and documented all findings.
