M-I SWACO, L.L.C., is a leading supplier to the worldwide petroleum industry. The company is jointly owned: 60% by Smith International, Inc. and 40% by Schlumberger Limited. M-I SWACO provides drilling, reservoir drill-in, completion and production fluids products/systems and solids control, as well as waste management services and equipment.
M-I SWACO has a large product portfolio and resources distributed globally, it faced challenges efficiently and effectively managing the product lifecycle for all products. M-I SWACO recognized accelerated project management was key to its ability to remain an industry leader. To achieve this objective, M-I SWACO decided to implement a Microsoft EPM solution.
Catapult guided the EPM implementation, which included technology installation and customization, and identification and deployment of business process changes. Catapult ensured the success of the EPM initiative by creating targeted training programs, a centralized storage mechanism for all project schedules and related documents and “closed-loop” processes to measure effectiveness.
