Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) is one of the largest domestic violence coalitions in the nation, with 100+ staff and 650 members. It promotes safe and healthy relationships by supporting service providers, facilitating strategic prevention efforts, and creating opportunities for freedom from domestic violence. It develops and facilitates training for professionals, advocates for laws and policies, and leads public awareness issues. TCFV operates the National Domestic Violence Hotline (Hotline) and the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline (Helpline), handling over 18,500 calls per month.
The original Hotline call center application was designed for a small number of users and low transactions. With a tremendous increase in callers, the system was slow and crashed often. Additionally, much of the data used by call center staff was paper-based. TCFV was also asked to create a new teen Helpline, which needed to share some resources with the Hotline, but also required a customized application.
Catapult Systems helped TCFV plan and implement a new, Web-based Hotline call center application, and leveraged it as a codebase to quickly create a unique application for the Helpline. Scalable, reliable and maintainable, the new system also eliminates the need for paper records.
