Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for managing the entire proposal development life cycle from identification to submission
- Act as the single point of contact for proposals
- Provide technical writing, editing, and proof-reading for key areas of the proposal including articulation of strategic value, past performance capabilities, technical approach, project governance, and tailoring of resumes
- Collaborate with sales to gain an appropriate understanding of the strategy and to ensure the response clearly conveys the proper business perspective, key messages, value proposition, and differentiators against our competition
- Drive proposal strategy meetings to discuss themes, discriminators, solution, pricing, etc
- Identify, assess, resolve, and/or escalate issues as needed
- Read and interpret solicitation to identify critical items required for a compliant response
- Apply project management techniques to control scope, cost, and schedule
- Develop and be held accountable for the overall proposal schedule, production schedule, outlines, compliance matrices, proposal development plan, and writing assignments
- Lead Proposal Kickoff Meeting and status calls as necessary
- Monitor the status of the proposal effort and ensure that the effort proceeds on schedule
- Keep senior management and account executives informed at all stages of the proposal development process during scheduled meetings
- Provide specific attention to assure completeness and accuracy of all data submitted on past performance responses
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience developing and managing complex IT-based proposals
- Ability to plan and manage a schedule with commitment to on-time performance
- Coordination of inputs, reviews, and strategy implementation
- Problem identification and resolution
- Leadership potential and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently with a variety of staff members
- Management skills required to direct large, multi-contractor proposal team efforts
- Dynamic interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet schedules
- Presentation skills and the ability to communicate, influence, and gain commitment of proposal team
- Creative thinking, problem solving skills, and detail-oriented
- Proficiency in Microsoft products
- Show initiative and be flexible working in a changing environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously
- Bachelors degree
Preferred:
- 5 years of previous proposal management experience for multi-million dollar projects
- Understanding of Federal government procurement process, policies and RFP’s to ensure responsiveness and compliance
- Familiar with industry-leading proposal development concepts, practices, and procedures
- MBA degree
